Community pray for strength

Community holds mass prayer following xenophobic attacks.

The community of the Delport informal settlement recently invited the Primrose police to join in a mass prayer event.

This came after the recent xenophobic attacks that have rocked the country.

The event saw community leaders, police, local councillors and pastors praying for divine intervention on the attacks of foreign nationals.

After the group had finished their prayer, the Primrose police station commander, Col Mduduzi Khuzwayo, spoke to the community about the attacks.

Local ward councillor Lindiwe Primrose Sibidli then addressed the community and asked residents to refrain from attacking foreign nationals in the future, while Pastor Robert Govensamy ended the gathering by discouraging segregation and discrimination and encouraged togetherness within the community.
