Fiela operation deemed a success

Fiela operation tackles crime in Primrose’s informal settlements.

The streets of Primrose were flooded by law enforcement teams recently, as part of the Fiela operation.

During the operation members of the SAPS, South African National Defence Force (SANDF), department of home affairs and traffic department joined forces under the leadership of Brig Sam Tambo.

“The teams visited the Makause, Delport and Marathon informal settlements,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“During the raid four illegal taverns were closed down, 25 illegal immigrants were arrested and 485 premises, 65 vehicles and 2 500 people were searched.”

Cluster commander Brig Phumla Mdlankomo thanked everyone who contributed to the success of this operation.

“Thank you to the members of SAPS, SANDF, the department of home affairs and the traffic department who assisted in this operation,” she said.
