The family of the two men found murdered in Sun Street, in Fishers’ Hill, on July 14, were moved by the community’s support following the tragedy.
Community members came together outside the house on Wednesday, July 15, to support the family through their sad and difficult time.
“The community intended to do a silent drive-by but, with so many cars filled with saddened community members, the small network of roads in that area quickly become congested,” said Primrose CPF Sector Three chairman Max Katz.
“To ease congestion residents gathered in a nearby park where they prayed and paid their final respects to their lost community members; many took the short walk to the house to offer condolences to the family.
“Members of the family said they were not sure what to expect, but they were overwhelmed and drew comfort from the outpouring of love and support displayed by the community.
“The family thanked the community and the CPF for their ongoing assistance and said they were still coming to terms with the shock of this horrific tragedy.”
After the gathering, CPF patrollers from all over Primrose, as well as many community members drove passed the house where the family members were gathered.
The Primrose police have opened a case of murder.
