Tzu Chi Foundation offers much needed aid

Relief for the needy.

There were 2 100 happy households from the Makause, Delport and Marathon informal settlements recently.

Their joy was the result of a generous donation by the Taiwan Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation.

Members of the organisation hosted a handover ceremony for the community members opposite the Primrose Police Station.

The community members each received rice, socks, ear muffs, and a bag of clothes and shoes.

The organisation is an international NGO and helps the needy throughout the world, in 56 countries.

It has 10 million volunteers.

Every Thursday, the Tzu Chi Foundation has a soup kitchen in the Makause informal settlement and concentrates on helping children and the elderly.

The community members were grateful for the help offered by the foundation.
