The GCN continues to follow up on the water interruption affecting Germiston.
The metro, this morning, released a statement stating that technicians have been worked tirelessly overnight to restore the supply of water.
“The interruption was due to technical problems at the Primrose and Russell reservoirs that resulted in parts of Germiston experiencing low water pressure or no water,” said Themba Gadebe, spokesman for the metro.
“Water supply will be gradually restored to customers during the course of the day, however, residents are advised to use water sparingly as the pressure will remain low for the next two days while repair works are being carried out.”
The affected areas are: Albemarle, Castleview, Dinwiddie, Hazel Park, Hazeldene, Lambton, South side of Elsburg and Wadeville.
Two roving water tankers have been made available in the Elsburg and Albemarle areas.
“The municipality apologises for any inconveniences caused,” Gadebe concluded.
