Two brothers sustained serious injuries when they were attacked at a Delport informal settlement tavern, recently.
Officers at the Primrose Police Station were alerted to the crime when the eldest of the two brothers open a case against his attackers.
He explained that they had been out when his younger brother winked at his ex-girlfriend from across the room.
“It is alleged that her boyfriend saw this and became enraged and with the help of a friend attacked the younger brother,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.
In an attempt to protect his younger brother the victim pulled the men away from him, it was then that they turned their attention on him.
“Officers were able to use the description given by the victim to locate the two accused, aged 21 and 24 respectively,” Maome added.
“The tavern was also closed down because it was operating without a licence.”
The men were arrested and charged with assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, they will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
