Officers from the Primrose Police Station recently arrested a 23-year-old man and charged him with the possession of suspected stolen property.
The arrest was made in Main Road, in Solheim, following a tip-off from a community member.
“Officers rushed to the scene after receiving the tip-off and found the accused with a bicycle, a tent and two boxes full of tools,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
The man was questioned by the officers but could not produce proof of ownership, or explain where he had obtained the items.
He was arrested.
“We are appealing to our community to stop blaming poverty as a reason for committing crimes.
“If any community members require any advice on the challenges they may face they should come forward,” said Maome.
