Man nabbed with drugs in his pocket

Man to face possession of drugs charge.

While members of the Elsburg police were patrolling in Voortrekker Street, Elsburg, last Saturday, at 5.30pm, they noticed a suspicious looking man.

He was sitting on the pavement and when he saw them he tried to hide something he had in his hands.

The police immediately stopped and approached the man.

He was searched and the officer found a packet containing a white substance in one of his pockets.

The substance is suspected to be drugs.

The 29-year-old man was arrested and detained at the Elsburg Police Station.

He is due to appear in Germiston Magistrates Court soon on a charge of possession of drugs.
