Some areas still without water

Metro is monitoring the water situation.

The metro is continuing to closely monitor water levels at its reservoirs in an effort to ensure that all areas are supplied with water.

Currently parts of Germiston still do not have any water supply including Dawnview, Gerdview and Marlands.

Areas supplied from the Primrose Reservoir may experience low pressure or no water at all.

Water tankers are still to be provided at the following locations:

*Opposite Old Marlands Swimming Pool near Solly’s Supermarket;

*Corner Elbertfield Avenue and Windsor Street;

*Howe Circle;

*Corner Jubilee and Ralston Avenues;

*Corner Fourth Avenue and Pipe Street;

*Jojo tanks at the corner of Elm and Oak streets, corner of Hazel and Pine streets and corner Edward and Frano streets.

Water supply has been reinstated to Bedfordview, however some areas may experience low water pressure.

Water is, however, still being supplied in Jojo tanks at the following points:

*Corner Riley Road and Van Buuren Road, Bedfordview,;

*Van Buuren Road (east of Harper Road) in front of Virgin Active, ;

*Parking area at KFC, Kirkby Road, Bedford Gardens, ;

*Corner Lucas Lane and Norman Road, Bedfordview (in front of Hyundai);

*Corner Fairway Avenue and Penthurst Avenue, Essexwold.

Water restrictions will be implemented from 10pm to 3am in areas where the metro needs to stabilise levels in reservoirs.

This will be informed by the constant monitoring which is currently taking place.

Furthermore, the metro has implemented a minor drop in water pressure in some areas to ensure a stable water supply.
