Some areas will not have electricity tonight

A number of Germiston areas will have a power supply interruption tonight from 8pm.

The metro informs residents and businesses in the Germiston area of an emergency electricity supply interruption to take place tonight, March 3.

The interruption is due to urgent cable repair works that need to be carried out at the James Bright Substation and will take place from 8pm until midnight.

The following areas will be affected:

  • Germiston Extensions Two and Four.
  • Heriotdale Extensions Three and Four.
  • Jupiter Extension Three.
  • Germiston South Extensions Two, Four, Five, 12, 20 and 28.

Customers are assured that should the repairs not be completed within the stipulated time, work will continue around the clock until the power is restored.

Customers are also reminded to treat all appliances and the network as electrically live at all times.

The metro apologises for any inconvenience to be caused.
