At 9am last Wednesday morning residents of Elsburg could not believe that the metro had still not done anything to address a burst water pipe in Van Der Merwe Street. The pipe, which is located under a sub-station, burst between midnight and 1am, sending a river of water down the road and into the nearby properties. The leak, more worryingly, had caused a live electrical box to sink into the ground and become submerged in water.
