While sitting in his yard in the Makause informal settlement, recently, a man was robbed and then beaten by a 23-year-old assailant.
“The victim told police that the man, whom he knows, approached him carrying a firearm.
“He entered the yard demanded the man’s cellphone and cash and then grabbed a burning piece of wood and assaulted the complainant,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
Officers were able to track down the suspect, using the description given by the victim, and he was arrested.
He has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for a bail application.
