Suspect arrested for allegedly burning woman

Police investigate motive behind vicious assault.

The Katlehong police arrested a 24-year-old woman, last Monday, after she allegedly assaulted and burnt another woman.

“When officers arrived on the scene they found the 24-year-old victim had serious burns down her back,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, communications officer for the Katlehong police.

The victim was rushed to hospital by ambulance.

A skeleton docket was opened by police at the scene on behalf of the victim and the accused was arrested.

“Police are investigating the cause of the burns and the motive behind the assault,” said Ndobe.

The suspect will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
