Honouring a struggle icon through song

Ekurhuleni International Choral Music Excellence competitions set to honour OR Tambo.

The metro has dedicated the month of October to celebrating late struggle icon OR Tambo.

One of the highlights of the celebration will be the Ekurhuleni International Choral Music Excellence Competitions, hosted by local company, Say a Word.

“We are proud to announce that we will be assisted by one of the most prominent conductors in the country, Monty Manamela,” said Laura Mwanyama, from Say a Word.

“In this month we are commemorating the life and times of OR Tambo who was well known for his love and appreciation of the music.”

The competitions, which include the singing talents of an array of choirs from across the metro, will take place in the Thokoza Auditorium, on Saturday, October 22.

For more information on the event contact Mwanyama on 078 150 4768.
