A hundred per cent pass rate for Assumption Convent

Assumption Convent School celebrates a successful year with a 100 per cent pass rate in the 2016 IEB matric examinations.

IEB matrics across the country waited with baited breath for their results to be released.

The results were released at midnight last Friday; and Assumption Convent School celebrated another year with a 100 per cent pass rate.

“We congratulate our 46 matric candidates, who sat for their gruelling year-end examinations,” said principal of Assumption Convent Neville Workman.

The school’s learners all passed with university exemption and together achieved 80 distinctions.

“We’re very proud of all our matrics; well done girls,” said Workman proudly.

The school’s top achievers were:

  •  Shannon Whitlock, who achieved eight distinctions in English, Afrikaans, life orientation, accounting, mathematics, advanced progamme mathematics, physical science and life sciences.
  • Rachel Audier, who achieved six distinctions in English, Afrikaans, life orientation, mathematics, life sciences and computer applications technology.
  • Andreia da Cunha, who achieved five distinctions in Afrikaans, mathematics, life orientation, accounting and life sciences.
  • Gabriela da Silva Sousa, who achieved five distinctions in English, Afrikaans, life orientation, computer applications technology and geography.
  • Juliet Markantonatos, who achieved five distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, dramatic arts and life sciences.
  • Skye Sheerin, who achieved five distinctions in English, Afrikaans, mathematics, life sciences and life orientation.
  • Paige Soal, who achieved four distinctions in English, geography, life orientation and mathematics literacy.
  • Brittany Teasdale, who achieved four distinctions in English, dramatic arts, life sciences and life orientation.

“We’re thrilled with the results and wish the 2016 matric class nothing but success, as they begin the next chapter of their lives,” Workman concluded.
