Four Christmas babies for Bertha Gxowa Hospital

New mothers, hospital and metro welcome four Christmas Day babies to the world at Bertha Gxowa Hospital.

Four families received the greatest gift of all this Christmas, when they each welcomed a baby to the world.

The staff members of the Bertha Gxowa Hospital, were thrilled to welcome the new bundles of joy.

The first baby was born at the hospital at 1.05am to Lethiwe Methula. The baby girl, named Tondaha, weighed 2.985kg and was 51cm in length at birth, with a head circumference of 35cm.

The baby however, was taken to the neo-natal ICU, where she was placed in an incubator for observation.

Dorcus Nelson, Boitumelo Kau and Nive Kahozi also welcomed their bundles of Christmas joy at the hospital.

As it was the season to be jolly, representatives of the metro shared in the joy of welcoming the hospital’s Christmas babies.

MMC for health and social services, Clr Dorah Mlambo, handed over essential baby hampers to the mothers of the first three babies.

“I wish the mothers and the babies nothing but good health and happiness,” Mlambo said.
