Latest arrest statistics from cluster
Eighty-five suspects were arrested by the former Katlehong Cluster stations.
Officers from the Vosloorus, Zonkizizwe, Eden Park, Tokoza, Katlehong North and Katlehong South police stations, with the help of the EMPD, had a busy weekend with the arrest of 85 suspects.
Arrests were made from January 27 to 29.
The accused were arrested during several different police operations held throughout the cluster of stations.
During the operations the suspects were charged with a number of different crimes, including theft, robbery, common assault, domestic violence, intimidation, rape, arson, pointing of a firearm, possession of an unlicensed firearm, malicious damage to property, shoplifting and business robbery.
More charges included, possession of suspected stolen property, possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle, dealing in liquor without a licence, housebreaking and theft, driving under the influence of alcohol and possession of drugs (including, dagga and nyaope).
All the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge and Vosloorus Magistrate’s Courts, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
