FCS and police target criminals

Police continue to make their presence felt in Katlehong South.

Police are continuing their efforts to increase their visibility in Katlehong South.

During a stop-and-search held recently by members of the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit and members of the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences (FCS) Unit, 10 suspects were arrested.

The 10 suspects were charged for various crimes, including common assault, malicious damage to property, theft of a motor vehicle, rape and possession of drugs.

The most notable of the arrests was the arrest of three suspects for rape, as the FCS members had been looking for the suspects for some time.

“Details on the accused have not been released as the cases are currently under investigation,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, communications officer for the Katlehong police.

The accused are expected to appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
