Dawnview dagga lab uncovered, R200 00 worth of dagga seized

Police swooped on a house, seizing dagga and shutting down a dagga plantation laboratory.

During an intelligence driven operation by members of the Ekurhuleni West cluster SAPS, R200 000 worth of dagga was seized in Dawnview, on Wednesday night.

The police raided a house in Kenlor Avenue and discovered a dagga plantation laboratory.

SAPS Forensics were called to the scene for investigation.

Dagga laid out on racks to dry in the laboratory.

A 37-year-old man was arrested and he will be charged with dealing in and manufacturing drugs.

He is due to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.

“The Ekurhuleni West cluster commander Maj-Gen Esther Korae applauds the members involved for their good work as dagga/drugs are a generator to property-related and contact crimes within the cluster,” said Capt André de Jager, spokesman for the cluster.
