More patrol vehicles for Katlehong
Katlehong SAPS station commander, Brig Phumla Mdlankomo, handed over brand-new vehicles to sector managers and visible policing members on Thursday, May 11.
The purpose of the handover was to make sure that there is no shortage of vehicles to attend to crime scenes.
Mdlankomo said she does not want to hear any complaint from the community about the shortage of vehicles.
“Service delivery and police visibility in the community should be improved in the Katlehong area. Hotspots where people are normally robbed must be thoroughly patrolled every day to make sure that people coming from work get home safely,” said Mdlankomo.
Mdlankomo encouraged community members to make good use of the sector vehicles.
“Police must make sure that they attend to people’s complaints on time.
“People coming to the police station are more than welcome to write down their suggestions and place them in the suggestions box. This will assist in improving police services. You must not be afraid to write about good or bad service you are receiving from the police,” Mdlankomo said.
Mdlankomo said she is working closely with the CPF chairperson in giving communities relevant service.
“I hope that the services we are giving you are the ones you are expecting from us,” she said.
Mdlankomo encouraged people to stop buying stolen goods because it promotes house-break-ins and burglary.
CPF chairperson Ashley Masina was happy with Mdlankomo’s ideas.
“Working together with the station commander will help the communities to come on board in the fight against crime,” said Masina.
