Workers at a warehouse in Germiston were held hostage by a group of men last Wednesday.
“According to the complainant, a group of armed men stormed into the warehouse and instructed the workers to lie on the ground,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.
“The workers were held hostage while the suspects loaded goods from the warehouse into a truck.”
Raphulu said the suspects searched the victims and took their belongings before fleeing.
“At this stage, the police have arrested one of the suspects and the case is under police investigation,” said Raphulu.
The 30-year-old suspect was arrested and detained at the Germiston Police Station.
