Man arrested for attempted rape

Cst Sivenkosi Mtwa said: “It is alleged that a 37-year-old woman was coming from a party from a tavern around Sakhile Squatter Camp. She was approached and forced by a 25-year-old man to go to his shack.”

He said on their arrival at the man’s shack he tried to force himself on her.

“The victim managed to push the suspect, grab her clothes and run away.

“The suspect was arrested immediately after the case of attempted rape was registered at Katlehong Police Station,” said Mtwa.

The suspect is expected to appear in court soon.

The investigation continues.
