Det-Const Mpho Makhubela, from the Primrose Police Station, helped to secure the conviction of two men for a murder in January last year.
Makhubela headed the investigation of the murder which took place in the Makause Informal Settlement.
Akhona Ntsaluba and Sinikiwe Ntsaluba, who were arrested for the murder, were found guilty in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court.

The pair were sentenced to ten years direct imprisonment and declared unfit to possess firearms.
The Primrose police’s station commander Col Albertina Vesi thanked Makhubela for her hard work and dedication and encouraged other detectives to learn from her example.
“We hope that with successes such as this the community will learn that they cannot escape the long arm of the law.
“If you commit crime you will be brought to book,” said Vesi.
