Be careful where you park your vehicle – say police

Valuables left in parked vehicles remain a concern for the Primrose police. “We are once again appealing to members of the community to be careful where they park their vehicles and what is left visible when the vehicle is parked,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Criminals nabbed in stop-and-search

As part of the Katlehong police’s festive season plan daily stop-and-searches are being held in the area. During one of these recent operations held by officers from the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit, four suspects were arrested. The accused were charged with various offences.

Men set to spend seven years in prison for theft

Two men were recently found guilty of theft and sentenced to seven years in prison. Bongani Khumalo (51) and Mabutho Magubane (29) were arrested due to Det Const Mpho Makhubela’s investigation into the theft of 282 truck tyres, valued at over R4-million. The tyres were stolen from a Germiston warehouse between March 18 and April 23, last year.

Man allegedly assaults aunt after robbery

A 23-year-old man was recently arrested by Primrose police for house break-in and theft. The accused was arrested after his aunt opened a case against him. She told police while opening the case that she had been at the local clinic with her mother and when she returned home, she discovered her house in Zinnia Lane had been broken into and money was missing.

Listeriosis is a serious, but treatable and preventable disease caused by the bacterium, listeria monocytogenes. The bacteria is widely distributed in nature and can be found in soil, water and vegetation. Animal products and fresh produce such as fruits and vegetables can be contaminated from these sources.
