Man returns from buying paint to find vehicle gone

Primrose police apprehend man for alleged theft of a motor vehicle.

The Primrose police arrested a 32-year-old man for the alleged theft of a motor vehicle on Wednesday.

“The complainant alleged that he parked his vehicle on the pavement in Mc Alpine Road in Wychwood near his home.

“He asked a colleague to watch the vehicle and left the keys with him while he went to buy paint for the vehicle,” explained the communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

When the man returned he discovered his vehicle was gone.

“He asked his colleague where the vehicle was and was told that another colleague had offered to move the vehicle and had disappeared,” said Maome.

Police followed several leads and located the suspect; he was arrested.

He will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
