Nine-year-old rushed to hospital following accident

Young boy found lying in Kruin Road after being knocked over by a motor vehicle.

A nine-year-old boy was rushed to hospital in a critical condition recently, after he was knocked down by a motor vehicle.

The incident took place Kruin Road, in Klopperpark.

“At approximately 1pm, paramedics from ER24 and local emergency services arrived on the scene where they found the boy lying in the road.

“He sustained possible head injuries and was treated on the scene.

“Paramedics placed the boy on life support before rushing him to Tambo Memorial Hospital for further care,” said Werner Vermaak ER24 spokesperson.

According to bystanders on the scene, the boy was on his way to a nearby municipal swimming pool when the accident occurred.

The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are still unknown.
