Stop-and-search yields results

Katlehong stop-and-search operation aims to increase police visibility in Katlehong.

In an effort to start the new year on the right foot, officers from the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit began a series of stop-and-search operations in the area.

During an operation held last Thursday, eight suspects were arrested.

The suspects were arrested for a number of different crimes.

Charges included:

• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 1

• Business robbery: 1

• Shoplifting: 1

• Assault and malicious damage to property: 2

• Possession of dagga: 3

All of the accused appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

The team will continue to host similar operations in the area.
