Man shot in Klopper Park store

Netcare 911 paramedics declare man dead after Klopperpark shooting.

Shortly after 6pm, on Thursday, Netcare 911 paramedics responded to reports of a shooting in Klopper Park.

“On arrival at the grocery store, Netcare 911 paramedics attended to a man, believed to be in his mid-40s, who appeared to have sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body.

“Tragically his injuries were fatal and he was declared dead on the scene,” explained Tebogo Magoro, marketing and communications officer for Netcare 911.

Reports from the scene indicate that the man had been shot by robbers, who were attempting to rob the store.

“The exact sequence of events leading to the shooting and the number of robbers involved was not yet known,” said Magoro.

SAPS were on scene and will investigate the matter further.
