Gareth excited to stage new musical production
Local drama teacher and his business partner to stage Let’s Do The T!me Warp Again.
Tic Toc Nursery School drama teacher Gareth Lovell Davies is beside himself with excitement.
The talented musical theatre actor and director (GCN, September 22, 2017) is gearing up to stage Let’s Do The T!me Warp Again, in collaboration with The Rocky Horror Picture Show, at the Germiston Theatre in President Street in the Germiston CBD in celebration of Youth Month (June).
The play is being staged in partnership with the metro and the theatre.
Gareth and Ashleigh Kroll (a performing artist, actress, singer and dancer) will be directing, choreographing, doing the musical directing and acting in the production.
Both are directors and producers for the Amateur Theatre Community Association and directors of their own organisation called Stardust Theatre Productions, which was founded in 2017.

The organisation aims to make amateur theatre as professional as possible and offer a platform to students who are studying for a career in the arts.
Gareth and Ashleigh studied and obtained their ATCL diplomas in musical theatre through London Trinity College.
“Let’s Do The T!me Warp Again is based on the classic musical, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but this rendition will bring in some interesting twists and some South African culture,” said Gareth.
“We approached the municipality with the idea as we wanted to do something meaty for the youth in Youth Month.
“We have a dynamic cast of 25 who have a great love of theatre and the arts and are extremely talented.”
The production will be adjudicated by the SA National Community Theatre Association (SANCTA) during its run.
Gareth and Ashleigh’s previous production, Stardust the Musical, which was produced last year at the Springs Civic Theatre, was also adjudicated by SANCTA and received outstanding reviews and won six SANCTA awards.

He also thanked Protea Stage Productions in Benoni for helping them with stage sets and advice and the Germiston Theatre for allowing them to stage the production.
“It’s now crunch time.
“I am looking forward to the roller-coaster ride which is Rocky Horror.
“The cast has big shoes to fill in such a well-known musical,” said Gareth.
