Katlehong SAPS’ acting station commander Col Nomthandeki Mthembu commended the officers of the Katlehong police’s Crime Prevention Unit on another successful operation.
The team arrested 14 suspects, on Wednesday, during a routine stop-and-search operation in the area.

The accused were arrested for a number of different offences.
Charges included assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, common assault, malicious damage to property, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, shoplifting and possession of drugs (including dagga).
“Our mission continues to be to not delay and arrest criminals as soon as a case is opened,” said Mthembu.

The suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for various reasons.
Officers, meanwhile, continue their efforts to curb crime in the area.
