SAVF Die Anker residents received a welcome donation

The Vroue Landbou-Unie’s Dinwiddie branch members recently collected and donated much-needed toiletries to the elderly residents of SAVF Die Anker.

In keeping with tradition, the Vroue Landbou-Unie’s (VLU) Dinwiddie branch showed their support for a local charity, on Thursday.

The 20-member strong group collected much-needed toiletries for the elderly residents of SAVF Die Anker in Germiston South.

The items, which were collected with the help of the women’s family and friends, were delivered to the home by VLU members Priscilla Atkins and Ria van den Tillard and accepted by a grateful Martie Otten, manager of the home.

When asked why they had decided to donate the items chairperson Ria explained, “Each year we choose a charity to collect and donate to.

“I have been choosing SAVF Die Anker for the past 20 years as it is an organisation I feel needs and deserves a helping hand.”
