City of Ekurhuleni launches customer relations app
The City of Ekurhuleni has added to their service delivery by developing the My Ekurhuleni app, a customer relations app where people can lodge complaints such as rates and tax issues, potholes, burst water pipes and power outages.

The launch of the app took place at Katlehong Customer Care Centre on August 19.
The app will also enable people to check for updates on developments and search for schools, hospitals, police stations and other state and municipal facilities within the city.
The customer call centre can already be contacted via SMS, social media, email or by visiting one of the various municipal offices around the city.
According to Regomoditswe Mavimbela, head of communications and brand marketing for Ekurhuleni, the call centre receives over 500 000 calls on its busiest days and the release of the app will help alleviate the strain on the call centre.
The app is also a low-cost data using app meaning that residents can use it to report any problems with minimal data usage. According to Tumelo Kganane, chief information officer for Ekurhuleni, the city will be expanding the Wi-Fi hotspots in various parts of the city to ensure that the residents can access the app without having to worry too much about data.
“The introduction of the app will also assist the city in finding solutions to the challenges of service delivery, allowing for a better flow of services and information,” said Tumelo.
The app can be downloaded at respective app stores and can also be accessed via USD from any cellphone device by dialling *134*302633# at no cost.
