The Elsburg SAPS swooped on the Wadeville Licensing Department in Osborn Road last Friday morning, arresting four suspects on charges of fraud and corruption amounting to about R80-million.
Police arrest three men, search for two following Ackermans robbery

Ackermans at Lambton Court was robbed by four men last Thursday morning. The incident was confirmed by the Germiston police communications officer, Const Maxwell Mabunda. “It is reported that three men entered the store while a fourth acted as a lookout, just outside the shop. The men, armed with a black pistol, made off with 210 cellphones,” he said.
Elsburg resident to take part in prestigious pageant

The search for Mr South Africa 2018 recently kicked-off and an unassuming Elsburg resident has made the cut. One needs to be 21 years of age and older to be an eligible contestant, but Eugene Barnard has somehow bypassed this rule. Twenty-year-old Eugene, who joined the glitz-and-glamour life of pageantry in nursery school, will represent Germiston in the prestigious event.
Watch total full moon eclipse on Friday from South Africa

A total full moon eclipse was viewable from multiple continents including most of Africa last Friday. This lunar eclipse was primarily visible from the world’s Eastern Hemisphere (Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand).
Police warn community against scams

The Primrose police are appealing to the community to be careful. “We have received a number of complaints relating to scams and are, therefore, encouraging our community to be extra careful to avoid becoming victims,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
