Police tackle serious crimes in Malvern East

Members of the Primrose police and Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk took to the streets of Malvern East to raise awareness about serious crimes in the area.

According to reports from the Primrose police, robberies with aggravating circumstances are on the rise in Malvern East.

Crimes of concern to police include house robberies, hijackings and robberies of individuals.

To address these worrying trends, officers from the Primrose Police Station, assisted by members of the Primrose SAPS Crime Prevention Youth Desk, took to the streets to warn the community about the increase in crime.

“The community needs to stand up and help the police to fight crime,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“The best way they can do this is by educating themselves about crime trends in their area.”

Approximately 600 safety tip flyers were distributed to the community through the awareness campaign.

“We hope that the safety tips will help the community in times of need,” said Maome.
