Restless weekend for residents surrounding Germiston Lake

Spring has definitely sprung, complete with sunny days and warm evenings. For many, there is nothing better than warm evenings with friends, and with this in mind, many guests flocked to Germiston Lake, recently, for RapLyf Records and Kwesta’s three-day-long Spring Break Festival. Residents from a number of surrounding suburbs, such as Denlee, Lambton, Dinwiddie, Hazeldene, Castleview, Albemarle and Elsburg didn’t enjoy their weekend as many have complained about the noise from the festival.

Four killed instantly as two vehicles crash on N3 highway near Spruitview

Traffic on the N3 came to a standstill last Monday morning with both the south and northbound highways being closed to traffic following a serious accident. Four men were killed when the minibus taxi they were travelling in collided with an SUV light motor vehicle on the N3 northbound, opposite Spruitview.

Man sentenced to 125 years imprisonment for young boy’s rape

The Katlehong police assisted the Eden Park police in an investigation into the sexual abuse of a young boy, between 2015 and 2016, from the Sonwabo section in Eden Park. The case was first reported to the police by the victim’s sister.

Update: Brazen armed robbery in Marlands leaves man seriously injured, gold missing

A 50-year-old man was shot and the gold he was transporting stolen after a shootout ensued in Marlands last Thursday. The Primrose SAPS are investigating cases of armed robbery and attempted murder. The drama unfolded when the victim was driving from Pretoria to a company in Primrose to deliver a box of gold.

Breaking News: Active crime scene in Marlands, avoid the area

The SAPS were on the scene of an alleged shooting in Marlands, which took place on the corner of Fourth Avenue and First Street, last Thursday. People were advised to avoid the area as it was an active crime scene.
