Man nabbed for hotel stabbing

Katlehong police arrest man accused of stabbing four residents of Mazubukho Hostel, last Friday.

Officers from the Katlehong Police Station were called to Mazubukho Hostel, last Friday.

When they arrived they found four victims who had allegedly been stabbed by the same suspect.

“All four victims were taken to Ramokonopi Clinic for treatment, where one of the four victims succumbed to his injuries and died.

“The remaining three victims were taken to Thelle Mogoerane Hospital in Vosloorus,” said Const Sivenkosi Mtwa, communications officer for the Katlehong police.

Police opened a murder case and began searching for the suspect.

Their search led them back to Mazubukho Hostel where the suspect ran to the police for protection, after he had allegedly been caught and assaulted by other hostel residents, in an act of mob justice.

“He was brutally assaulted,” said Mtwa.

“He was arrested and taken to hospital under police guard.”

The suspect will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon on a charge of murder.

“More charges may be added,” said Mtwa.
