The Katlehong police arrested 17 suspects for various offences last weekend.
The suspects were arrested during several festive season operations which was conducted by officers from the Katlehong Crime Prevention Unit, with the help of officers from the EMPD.
The operations included, but were not limited to, stop-and-searches, roadblocks and visible policing campaigns.

Charges included:
• Assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm: 6
• Trespassing: 1
• Malicious damage to property: 1
• Arson: 1
• Driving under the influence of alcohol: 8

All the arrested suspects appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court, where their cases were postponed for different reasons.
Katlehong SAPS station commander Col Doctor Sibuyi applauded the officers on a job well done.
He further appealed to the community to be vigilant at all the times during the festive season and not to hesitate to call the police.
