Primrose resident and St Benedict’s College matriculant Dominic da Costa excelled in the 2018 IEB matric exams.
Dominic achieved nine distinctions and an overall average of 91.9 per cent.
He attained distinctions in English, mathematics, Afrikaans, information technology, life sciences, physical sciences, music, life orientation and advanced programme mathematics.
He was also named in the top one per cent of IEB learners nationally for English, information technology, life orientation and physical sciences.
He was also named as an IEB Outstanding Achiever.
To be an IEB Outstanding Achiever, a learner must achieve within the top five per cent of IEB learners nationally for six subjects (which were not made known to the family) and have a distinction for life orientation.
This year Dominic will be attending Wits University to study medicine.
