Man dies after jumping off railway bridge onto N3 highway in Germiston
A man died instantly when he allegedly jumped off a railway bridge over the N3 highway in Germiston last Tuesday at 2pm. “It is alleged the unknown man was standing on the railway bridge over the highway when he jumped off the bridge,” said Capt André de Jager, spokesperson for the Ekurhuleni West Cluster SAPS.
Loud music troubles Primrose residents
Residents in Primrose have recently been plagued by extremely loud music coming from the Makause informal settlement. “A number of residents in our area have been reaching out to our authorities to no avail,” said Johan la Grange, a resident of Primrose. The music is playing extremely loud right through the weekend – how can one expect to rest with such havoc surrounding our peaceful neighbourhoods?”
Solheim celebrates approval of road closure
The Solheim west-side road closure is going ahead. “The committee’s hard work and persistence have paid off. We are glad to announce that we have all the approved documents from all the relevant departments of the metro for the booming off of our area,” said Barbara Parker, the communications officer of the Solheim Road Closure committee.
Stage Three load-shedding continues today
Eksom implemented Stage Three load-shedding on Wednesday which ran until 11pm. Customers were reminded to treat all electrical points as live during load-shedding.
Hawk Academy welcomes Primrose SAPS
The learners, teachers and management of Hawk Academy welcomed a team from the Primrose police to the school, recently. The visit formed part of the police’s on-going back-to-school campaign.
