Ramaphosa vows to send corrupt people to jail
Since he took over as the leader of government from former president Jacob Zuma, President Cyril Ramaphosa has made a commitment to to listen to the the needs of the people.
On February 26 he visited the community of Vosloorus to ask the residents to vote for the ANC.
Ramaphosa conducted door-to-door visits, mostly in Ward 44 after which he delivered his speech to thousands of people who packed the Lesedi Mall’s parking lot.
In his speech, he said his door-to-door campaign in the township was meant to gain an understanding of what local residents expected of the ANC-led government under his leadership.

In his discussion with the people, he discovered that the people needed decent RDP houses, and that the government should work hard to create job opportunities.
Ramaphosa promised that the ANC government would build 10 000 houses, and that 3000 of these houses would be built this year.
He said the ANC-led government was working with business people to raise R290-million which will be used to create job opportunities in the next five years.
“We also have a plan in the pipeline with David Makhura (Gauteng premier) to assist local business. By so doing we want to encourage people to focus on creating their businesses,” said Ramaphosa.

He said his government was committed to a five-year plan aimed at eradicating corruption.
“Perpetrators are going to be arrested. We are saying crooks who steal money should go to jail. They must wear orange overalls‚” the president said.
In conclusion, Ramaphosa said his government was on the side of the people and would ensure communities are protected from criminals.
