Woman shot dead in street for unknown reason

Vosloorus police are on the hunt for the suspects who shot a woman dead while she was walking along Mamalangoana Street in Extension Nine, Vosloorus on April 29 around 10am.

Communications officer at Vosloorus Police Station Capt Piet Rossouw said the woman was attacked by the occupants of a black Audi without a number plate.

“One of them got out of the vehicle and started to walk behind the lady. For unknown reasons, the suspect started to fire shots in the lady’s direction,” said Rossouw.

“The evidence suggested that the victim, believed to be in her 30s, was shot multiple times in her upper body.

“It had not been established if anything was stolen from the victim, whose identity is still unknown. I can confirm that her house key was found on her,” Rossouw told Kathorus MAIL.

“Vosloorus police are appealing to the community for any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects and the identification of the woman.

“A murder case was registered at the police station and the investigation is ongoing. The motive is still unknown at this stage.”
