Use these contact details to submit meter readings

Ward 36 councillor Wendy Morgan encourages the community to submit their meter readings on the same day each month.

Many residents throughout the city contact the metro each month to give their meter readings.

In recent weeks many of these residents have reported a problem when trying to submit these readings.

Ward 36 councillor Wendy Morgan shed some light on the situation stating, “The contract with the current service provider for the meter reading capturing has expired,” she said.

Until a new service provider is appointed the following numbers and emails can be used by the community to submit meter readings:

• Ntiyoso Consulting: Call 010 900 4641 or send an email to trevor.mupeti@ntiyosoconsulting.co.za.

• The metro: Call 011 999 0416 or 011 999 4966 or 011 999 0192 or send an email to pitso.matona@ekurhuleni.gov.za or johannes.radzilani@ekurhuleni.gov.za.

“Meter readings should be submitted on the same day of each month to ensure that each month is charged for the same amount of days,” Morgan said.

“Submitting your meter readings also avoids interim readings which are normally higher than your normal consumption.

“The community should also note that third party payments on an account can take up to seven days to reflect.

“Residents are, therefore, encouraged to pay their accounts with enough time to avoid disconnection notices.”
