TAKE NOTE: Don‘t forget rock blasting to take place at Russel Road Reservoir on Tuesday

Be aware of the rock blasting which will take place.

Don’t forget rock blasting is set to take place at the Russel Road Reservoir on August 13 (tomorrow) at approximately 2pm.

The following roads will be affected due to the blasting:
• Dakota Crescent (from Viking Way to Dakota Association of South Africa)
• Cachet Road (From Dakota Crescent to Second Street)
• M37 (Russel Road – from Rand Airport Road to the off-ramp to the N17)
• First Avenue (from Russel Road to Second Street)
• Second Avenue (from Russel Road to Second Street)
• Third Avenue (from Russel Road to Second Street)
• Fourth Avenue (from Russel Road to Second Street)
• Russel Road (from Russel Road to Merdyk Street)

Umso Construction (Pty) Ltd has been appointed by Development Bank of South Africa under the City of Ekurhuleni for the construction of the new 30ML Russel Road Reservoir.

On the day of the blast, a blasting siren will sound for approximately five minutes before the blast.

The blasting company or guard at the guard post will again sound the siren once the blast is complete to declare the area safe.

All people are requested to stay out of the blasting area and obey instructions given by the blasting team until the blasting area has been cleared.

Equipment should also not be left in the blasting area.
