Fifteen arrested in daily stop-and-search

Katlehong police conduct stop-and-search to help curb crime in the area.

Katlehong SAPS Crime Prevention Unit officers and detectives from the Katlehong Police Station continued their crime prevention efforts in their area by holding a stop-and-search operation.

During the recent operation 15 suspects were arrested.

The accused were charged with various offences.

Charges included possession of a hijacked motor vehicle, possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of stolen goods, assault with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm, trespassing, defeating the ends of justice, rape and common assault.

They appeared in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court where their cases were postponed for various reasons.

Katlehong SAPS station Brig Sammy Thambo appealed to the community to help in the fight against crime and to report criminal activities to the police.
