SAB spend Mandela Day at Erasmus Monareng Secondary School

The South African Breweries (SAB) spent the day celebrating Mandela Day at the Erasmus Monareng Secondary School in Vosloorus on July 23.

The company spent four hours painting images of indigenous games such as morabaraba on the school’s assembly floor.

They did the same with other games such as chess, snake and scorch. The company also painted the interior of three class rooms, and donated 40 boxes of food parcels.

School governing body (SGB) chairperson Lawrence Kwenda thanked the SAB, saying the gesture would ensure learners spent lunch break playing games inside the school premises rather than being outside the yard.

“The indigenous games drawn on the floor accommodate all genders. Anyone can play what they like at any time as long as it this will not interfere with learning hours,” Kwenda said.
