Kairos Women’s Fellowship hosts conference

The Kairos Women’s Fellowship held a Women’s conference on August 17 at the Thatch Hall in Mampudi Primary School in Ponong, Vosloorus.

The Kairos Women’s Fellowship held a Women’s conference on August 17 at the Thatch Hall in Mampudi Primary School in Ponong, Vosloorus.

The guest speaker from New York in the United States of America, Dr Cheryll Holmes, spoke on women and relationships.

Holmes said: “We need to reestablish families the way God wants us to.

“The media tells us that we are equal to men but the Bible tells us that we should be submissive.

“As women we can still run things while being submissive.”

One of the women who attended the conference, Lungile Hlongwane said: “I have learnt a lot.

“I am not married yet, but what I’ve learnt is to submit to my husband once I am married and to also have a friendship with my children.

“This is what I’ll share with my friends and family back home.

“I would attend more programmes like these as they are empowering.”

The event organiser and host Pastor Nthudiseng Mareletse said: “We had a fruitful service and have learned a lot and are glad that Holmes came today to grace us with her presence and to speak to us.”
