More Germiston suburbs were plunged into darkness this afternoon (Monday).
This comes after several areas including, but not limited to, Meadowbrook, Wilbart, Solhiem, Symhurst, Sunnyridge, Gerdview, Homestead, Marlands, Primrose, Fishers’ Hill, Sunnyrock, Dawnview, Meadowdale and Primrose East experienced a power failure this morning.
The cause of this morning’s outage is still unknown, but power is estimated to be restored at 5pm this evening.
While the second power outage affecting areas including, but not limited to, Albemarle Extension One and Two, Union, Dinwiddie, Castleview, Wadeville, Mimosa Park, Hazel Park, Lambton, Hazeldene, Leondale and Elsburg, has reportedly been caused by an Eskom input trip.
“Officials are on site and will slowly restore power to the affected area, and in doing so hope to establish what is causing the trip,” said Ward 39 councillor Alta de Beer.
“It is reported power will be restored after 5pm.”
