Several areas without power once again

Power is off in a number of Germiston suburbs again today.

Many Germiston suburbs have been left without power once again this morning (Monday).

This come after many suburbs were plunged into darkness last week.

The affected areas include, but are not limited to, Meadowbrook, Wilbart, Solhiem, Symhurst, Sunnyridge, Gerdview, Homestead, Marlands, Primrose, Fishers’ Hill, Sunnyrock, Dawnview, Meadowdale and Primrose East.

Clr Wendy Morgan,  the Ward 36 councillor, told the GCN that the metro is investigating the cause of the outage.

“The cause of the outage is not known at this stage, but a team is on site investigating the cause,” said Morgan.

She further stated the metro’s energy department had estimated that power would be restored within seven hours.
