Robbers make off with cash

Primrose police investigate Rietfontein Road business robbery.

Primrose police confirmed they opened a case on business robbery last Monday morning following an alleged robbery at a fuel station in Rietfontein Road.

“It is reported a vehicle with five men arrived at the fuel station and asked the fuel attendant to fill the vehicle with petrol,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“When they attempted to pay, the card they used allegedly kept declining.

“The attendant asked two of the occupants to accompany him inside to talk to the cashier.”

While they were inside, the three remaining occupants exited the vehicle.

“The men were reportedly armed.

“They threatened the fuel station’s manager with a firearm and ordered him to open the safe,” said Maome.

The alleged criminals made off with an undisclosed amount of money.

Police were called to the scene and a case opened.
