Germiston residents believe money to be used to rename 42 streets and eight landmarks in the metro should be used for the betterment of the people.

At an extraordinary council meeting, held at the Germiston Council Chamber in September, the metro took the first steps in renaming 42 streets and eight landmarks.

The streets and landmarks will be renamed after political icons and other eminent individuals from the region.

 

Following the news, the Germiston community shared their dissatisfaction with the metro’s plans with many labelling the process a waste of money.
